“Our company supports At Home Group because it’s an organization that truly helps people help themselves,” says Misha Redmond, CEO of The Redwoods Company,  a Savage, Minn. merchant services company specializing in custom systems design for small businesses.

Redmond not only matches employees’ donations, but also encourages customers to get involved.  “It’s like a chain-reaction for good,” he says. “At Home Group helps people get back in the workforce. It’s awesome! It’s a great concept. One act of kindness can change a life.”

Kathy Olson, executive director of At Home Group says, “Our clients are homeless not helpless. Usually all it takes is a small sum – the price of a pair of work shoes, a uniform, a bus pass or drivers license to get a person back to work and on the way to stable housing. People want to take care of themselves and it doesn’t take much to remove simple obstacles to help them get back to work.”

On November 13, 2010, At Home Group clients will celebrate their successes and share individual stories to help raise funds for the organization at the Restoring Hope Gala. The gala be held at the First Unitarian Society, 900 Mount Curve Avenue, Minneapolis, Minnesota, from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m. (One block behind the Walker Art Center) Tickets for the formal event are $50 individual and $500 for a table of ten.

“It’s important to always be involved,” says Redmond. “At Home Group is focused on helping skilled adults get back on their feet so they can provide for themselves and their families. It’s great to be a partner in making our world just a little bit better.”
